Hello Everyone!
We are very excited to announce our 3rd Annual Going for Gold Sponsor A Week Campaign to help us continue our mission of bringing smiles to the faces of kids fighting cancer!
In July of 2021, when the doors of our first Tommy’s Place opened, I witnessed a 14 year old dream come to life in real-time. My dream was to open a year round, free of charge, vacation home for kids fighting cancer. It was inspired back in 2007 by a little 8 year old boy (Grifyn) and his grateful family - the Sawyer’s from Lynn, MA. The idea was to have a year-round magical place where families can come together as one with their entire support system around them - away from hospitals and doctor’s offices. A “home” where kids and families can feel safe, relax, make memories and most importantly have FUN! After overwhelming demand from families and with your help and support, I decided to Dream Big with all of you and do it AGAIN - our Second Tommy’s Place in Centerville Village in Barnstable, MA opened in June of 2023!! As of today, over 140 consecutive families, and counting, have stayed in one of our homes in Falmouth and Centerville. We are at 100% occupancy until April 1 of 2024 with over 75 names on our waiting list!
The doors are open and now we need to keep them open for generations to come so we can continue to bring smiles to the faces of kids fighting cancer. How do we keep the doors open...with the generosity of incredibly kind individuals and businesses that continue to step up to support our mission through donations and third-party fundraisers throughout the year. We do not hold large galas and events and we do not receive any state, federal or large corporate funding - we rely 100% on our amazing supporters to help us provide these opportunities to these incredibly brave kids and their deserving families. Everything that we provide is 100% free to our guests and their families. We estimate that more than 2000 family members and friends will stay in our homes throughtout the year. As we are all aware, there is a cost to “Free.” We will never charge a cancer fighting family to stay in these spectacular 7000 square foot homes. These families have enough burdens and obstacles in their lives and Tommy’s Place will never be one of them. With this in mind, we need to maintain the properties throughout the year. Annual home maintenance, repairs and utility bills will never go away. We need to sustain Tommy’s Place and make sure that it is here and available, free of charge, for generations to come. As evidenced by our 100% occupancy and long waiting list, the fact is that “one” Tommy’s Place wasn’t nearly enough to give all of these families the little break that they all so very much deserve so we needed to grow into a “second” magical home and as a result our expenses have now doubled.
With all of this being said, today we are announcing Tommy’s Place 3rd Annual Going for “Gold” Sponsor-A-Week Campaign! This annual campaign is for individuals and businesses that would like to continue to support our mission. At Tommy’s Place, no one week is different than any other week. All of our families are treated the same exact way when they enter Tommy’s Place. This campaign will be no different. All weeks will be the same amount regardless of the time of year. This is a very limited opportunity - we only have 104 weeks (52 at each home) available for sponsorship in 2024! Weekly sponsorship is $1,000 with a limit of 10 weeks per individual or business sponsor. Our first two campaigns sold out and we are hoping to do the same again this year! If you have someone that you would like to honor, a business, individual or you choose to remain anonymous all are welcome. If you have no preference for your week we will choose one for you (the majority of our weekly sponsors chose this option each year), otherwise, please give us your top 3 choices and we will fill them in on a first come first serve basis as we receive them.

If desired, please be sure to include the name of a business or individual that you wish to honor. If you would like a specific week, please be sure to provide your top 3 choices to us. (All donations are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.)
